ARTiST STATEMENT
My work studies pop-culture movements and topics such as mid-century Tiki and the Tiki revival. I create work from the topic in multiple media such as painting and drawing ceramics, and wood-carving. My purpose and drive in researching and discussing such a topic is to bring new life and help preserve these movements as well as the ancient Polynesian art that inspired and informs these movements.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Nick Elam is a multidisciplinary artist from Columbus, Ohio. He is a graduate of the Painting + Drawing program at Ohio University. Nick often focuses on topics from mid-century and modern popular culture most commonly Tiki. Nick is proficient in many forms of creating such as wood carving, sculpting, painting and drawing in multimedia. Nick has shown his creations across the United States from Columbus to Hollywood.
